Minutes of the March 14, 2005 Town Council Meeting


The March 14, 2005 Town Council Meeting was called to order at 7:08 p.m. by President Jack McArdle. Present were: Jack McArdle, President; Anthony Kraus, Councilman, Larry Armstrong, Councilman, Donald Stuckey, Town Attorney; Virginia Nye, Clerk-Treasurer; Bruce Snyder, Zoning Inspector, and Robert Hull, Town Superintendent. And
27 people signed the guest register.

Minutes of the February 14, 2005 Council Meeting were read by Jack McArdle. Tony Kraus moved approval, Larry Armstrong seconded, and the motion passed.

The financial report was read by Virginia Nye. Larry Armstrong moved approval, Tony Kraus seconded, and the motion passed. Warrants by fund in excess of $250 were as follows: General Fund Total $1,883.00; LECE Total $567.00; MVH Total $1,713.21, and Municipal Wastewater Utility Total $30,037.55. Larry Armstrong moved approval of the report, Tony Kraus seconded, and the motion passed.

The Marshal’s report was read by Larry Armstrong. Tony Kraus moved approval, Larry Armstrong seconded and the motion passed.

Bruce Snyder reported that no permits were issued during the last month. He also announced that there will be a BZA meeting on March 28 at which there will be four applications requesting variances from the Zoning Ordinance.

Bob Hull, in the Superintendent’s report, said he had received two quotes for removal of brush along 850 E between Lake Drive and Outer Drive. The two quotes are: Sevits Tree Service, $1,600; and Hufnagle Tree Service, $1,500. Larry Armstrong made a motion to accept the Hufnagle quote, Tony Kraus seconded, and the motion passed. Bob Hull also said that he is exploring the possibility of installing a new Town Hall well across the road on the High Hope Camp property.

Old Business

Don Stuckey reported that Commonwealth Engineers continues to work on the discovery response to Geiger.

Ordinance 305 (150.41 Demolition of Buildings and Structures, and PRIVATE, GARAGE. A Detached accessory building without sanitary facilities used for the storage of vehicles and/or personal property. 154.046 Height Requirements) was read and approved at the February 14, 2005 meeting of the Town Council. For the second reading, Tony Kraus made a motion to read Ordinance 305 by title only, Larry Armstrong seconded, and the motion passed. Tony Kraus made a motion to approve the second reading of Ordinance 305, Larry Armstrong seconded, and the motion passed.

The CEDIT ordinance for the year 2005 was discussed and will be introduced at the April Council Meeting.

At 8:15 p.m. Larry Armstrong made a motion to adjourn, Tony Kraus seconded, and the motion was approved.
